Jennifer Sigrest, LPC
I’m Jennifer Sigrest, LPC, the owner of Lotus Place Counseling. I consider it a privilege to do the work I do and have created a comfortable, safe space for people to discover their inner strengths. I also offer an online counseling space for people that live a distance away or have difficulty making an in-person meeting. I have worked many years in the field of behavioral health, providing services and supports across multiple settings and systems. I’ve been in private practice in Ridgeland, MS since 2012, where I specialize in working with older adolescents and adults dealing with issues of anxiety, traumatic stress, and other issues. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Mississippi (LPC#: 0552) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC#: 30511). I am additionally a Board Certified-Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH#: 1722). I use a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral approach in my practice. I am a trainer and practitioner of SPARCS, a group model addressing issues related to complex trauma and am also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based practice for youth experiencing issues of traumatic stress. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and an affiliate member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. I love the outdoors and am a Mississippi Master Naturalist in both the central and coastal regions of the state. I enjoy cycling, kayaking, and taking pictures wherever I roam.
Nani Girl was rescued in July 2016 as a young puppy from a local animal shelter. She is a very kind and loving lab mix who likes to hangout at Lotus Place Counseling from time to time. Nani is a Hawaiian word that means “pretty,” and that she is, both inside and out. She can be available to provide extra support and comfort in sessions if needed. If you’re not a dog person, no worries. She has her own space here and you will not have to interact with her unless you want to.
